Approach

We use the framework for strategic sustainable development (FSSD), a proven, scientific understanding of sustainability developed by The Natural Step (TNS) and used by Nike, Panasonic, IKEA and other world class organisations.

There are many definitions and frameworks but the FSSD is the only definition based on a whole-systems understanding of sustainability, derived through scientific consensus.

4 Principles of sustainability
The framework outlines 4 principles of sustainability, what scientists agree are the four basic conditions that your organisation (and society in general) should comply with in order to be sustainable.

A corporate commitment to provide your products and services within these boundaries sets clear, long-term business goals and challenges management and staff to innovate and improve, year on year, to reach them.

So where do you start? How sustainable is your organisation today and how does it compare with others in your sector? What would need to change for it to operate sustainably and profitably and what actions will fast track your progress?
Get-it, Audit, See-it, Do-it are our four practical planning steps (based on TNS ABCD process) that help you and your team develop the practices and performance required to reach your sustainability goals.

So whether your organisation is a local authority, manufacturer, hotel, hospital or retailer, the principles of sustainability define the boundaries that your organisation should strive to operate within while Get it, Audit, See it, Do it provides four practical steps to help you get there.
